YAN is formed with the mission of bringing the best and most innovative, unique EDC ( Every Day Carry / Collectors ) items to the knife community at a fair and reasonable price.
Andrew Do has been hand-forging Japanese swords ( Short & Long ) for years. He enjoys creating and designing unique EDC items in his spare time and is also a dentist, college professor and a martial arts instructor.
The focus of YAN will be on: EDC, EDU ( Everyday Usage ), some collectible designs, fancy and special request items.
A handful of world renown knife makers and dear friends will also be designing for YAN. The current list includes: Kirby Lambert, Enrique Pena, Matthew Christensen, Alvin Lee, Nati Amor, etc. These designers will be creating unique and one of a kind knives for YAN. The production side will be handled by one of the finest factory worldwide :REATE KNIVES.
The very first knife designed by Andrew will be the EMW ( East Meets West ). It’s a double front flipper featuring one Japanese blade ( Bushido ) and an American Tanto on the other side, and hence the East Meets West theme.
Through the journey of making knives, working with knives makers and friends, we realize knife is more than just a tool. It symbolizes creativity, hardwork, friendship, passion and the drive to achive perfection. It’s a lifestyle we would like to share with our friends and we sincerely thank everyone for joining us in this journey.
